The HC-3800 is a product not a project!
The HC-3800 is ready to use out of the box. Plug your electric kettle into your HC-3800 and you are ready to brew.

Using the HC-3800, you can brew using electricity instead of propane. For most residences in the United States, electricity is actually a cheaper option.
Your HC-3800 can plug into the USB port of your computer for maximum control, but it also functions perfectly on its own. You provide a 3800-Watt heating
element that plugs into your HC-3800. Your HC-3800 will do the following for you:
- Heat up your strike water. If you are using a computer, just enter the amount of water in your hot liquor tank. Then, enter your target strike temperature. Using an optional thermocouple (temperature sensor) the HC-3800 can most accurately hit your target temperature. No energy will be wasted!
- Boil your wort. Your boiloff rate is precisely calculated, so you can hit your target gravity every time. Every batch will turn out the same!
- Display your energy consumption. Your HC-3800 keeps track of how much energy is used for each batch. You will know precisely what your energy costs are, and you can learn how to make your beer more efficiently than ever!

NEMA 6-20 plug:

This is the simplest plug to use because it is similar to a standard outlet. The plug and an 8-foot cord are permanently attached to your HC-3800.
NEMA L6-20 plug:

This plug is more durable and has less of a chance of accidentally being pulled out of the socket. Plug it in and twist clockwise to lock. To unplug it, twist slightly counterclockwise and pull it out. The plug and an 8-foot cord are permanently attached to your HC-3800.
Flying Leads:

With this option the HC-3800 comes with flying leads on the end of the cable. The 8-foot cord is permanently attached to your HC-3800.
GFCI:

A Ground-Fault Circuit Interruptor (GFCI) is an important safety device that helps prevent electric shock. You must use a GFCI with your HC-3800. If your electrician installs one then you can purchase the HC-3800 with just a line cord. If your electrician doesn't install one then please purchase this option.
